The Field Guide

Everything I Know, In One Place

I've spent my whole life out here — fixing what breaks, putting up what grows, and keeping a family fed through winters that didn't ask permission. I started the Field Report because too many good folks are being sold panic and fifty-dollar gadgets they'll never use.

This guide is the opposite of that. It's the quiet, practical stuff I'd tell my own neighbor over the tailgate: how to store water so it's there when the tap goes quiet, how to build a pantry that feeds you for weeks without a fridge, how to keep warm and lit when the power company can't help you, and how to fix the things that break instead of throwing them out.

No bunkers. No fear-mongering. Just the chores that let you sleep easy.

Everything in here is written the way I talk — plain, tested, and doable at the kitchen table with what you can get at the hardware store. If the trucks keep running forever, you've lost nothing but a few good weekends. And if they don't, you'll be the calm one on the block.

The Difference

The Old Panic vs. The Plain Way

The Panic Way

  • Buy a pallet of gear you never learn to use
  • Doom-scroll every headline, sleep worse for it
  • Depend on the store being open, every single day
  • Spend hundreds on gadgets built to sit in a closet
  • Freeze up when something actually goes wrong

The Field Report Way

  • Learn simple systems you can run yourself
  • Trade worry for a checklist you've already done
  • Keep enough on hand that a bad week is just a week
  • Spend little, using what's already at the hardware store
  • Have a plan so your hands know what to do
What's Inside

Nine Parts, Start to Finish

The whole plan, in the order you'd actually build it — from your first 72 hours to a bug-out bag done right, once.

I

The First 72 Hours

The simple plan for the moment it hits — what to do, in what order, before you do anything else.

II

Water

Store it, find it, and make it safe to drink when the tap runs dry. Amounts that actually last.

III

The Deep Pantry

Food that keeps for months, bought cheap and rotated right — no freeze-dried buckets required.

IV

Heat, Light & Power

Staying warm, seeing at night, and running the essentials when the grid quits on you.

V

The Workshop

The tools, spares, and field fixes that keep your home and your vehicle running when help is far off.

VI

Home Security

Keeping what's yours — calm, sensible, and within the law. Firearms and legal notes vary by state.

VII

The Medical Shelf

The home kit worth having and the everyday know-how to use it before help arrives.

VIII

Knowing What's Happening

How to hear the news and reach your people when the phones and internet go down.

IX

The Bug-Out Bag

What goes in it, what stays out, and how to pack it once so it's ready to grab.

About Clint

The Man Behind the Report

I'm Clint Harrow. I've spent four decades on the same patch of ground — raising a family, keeping old trucks alive, and learning the hard way what matters when things get lean.

I'm no survivalist and I'm not selling fear. I'm a neighbor who believes a ready home is a calm home, and that the plain old skills our grandparents took for granted are worth passing on. That's all the Field Report is: one fellow's field notes, handed to you straight.

Questions

Straight Answers

Isn't this just common sense I already know?
Some of it is common sense — the trouble is most of us never write it down or actually do it. This guide turns "I really should" into a finished checklist. It's the doing, in order, that makes the difference on a bad day.
Your videos are free — why should I buy the guide?
The videos are scattered across years of uploads. The guide is the whole plan gathered in one place, in order, with the printable checklists I can't hand out in a video. It's the difference between watching me do a chore and having the chore list in your hand.
Why is it only $27?
Because I'd rather have it on ten thousand shelves than locked behind a big price. It's a digital download, so there's no printing or shipping — I can keep it cheap and still keep it good. The $47 is where it lands after the launch promo.
What exactly do I get, and in what format?
A PDF you download the moment you order — readable on any phone, tablet, or computer, and easy to print. It's yours to keep, with free updates as I add to it. No app, no subscription, nothing to wait on in the mail.
Is any of this legal advice about firearms or security?
No. The security and legal notes are informational only, and laws vary by state. Always follow your local guidance and any manufacturer instructions. When in doubt, check with the proper authority where you live.
